The SITES Program

The Student Information Technology Education and Scholarship (SITES) program is geared towards high school students to expose them to the latest technologies, present scholarship opportunities, and jumpstart their careers.

Free of cost, we enable an accessible and safe learning environment for our students to pursue their interests in STEM and Information Technology before they reach higher institutions.

2025 Course Offerings

Our core classes take you through each phase of web application development

Basics

Students will be introduced to foundational concepts of technology and learn the essential elements of web design with HTML

Front End

Enhancing web design skills with JavaScript and CSS to craft dynamic webpages

Back End

Introduction to databases and backend technologies to integrate all components of a website

Advanced

Advanced integrations and deployment skills. Practice with real-world problems and scenarios to prepare for the HSCC competition


In addition to our core web app development curriculum,

Students will participate in supplemental sessions to introduce emerging technologies such as Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics.

Professional Development workshops will be included to enhance business skills such as real-world problem solving, personal branding, etc.


Robotics

Introduction to robotics principles and components

Artificial Intelligence

Generative AI concepts and prompt engineering

Cyber

Basic cybersecurity practices and concepts

Classes will be held at IUPUI School of Informatics

In addition to our emerging tech curriculum,

Students will engage in esports gaming activities designed to foster teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, while exploring career opportunities in the gaming industry and enhancing their web development knowledge.

ESPorts

Explore the world of competitive gaming, teamwork, and strategy while developing skills relevant to the gaming industry.


Program Timing

Classes will run from January to July, every Saturday excluding some holiday weekends outlined in our syllabus.


Orientation: January 18, 2025

First Class: January 25, 2025



Typical Saturday

9:45am-10:00am: Arrival

10:00am-11:00am: Core Class (Basics, Front End, etc.)

11:00am-12:00pm: Emerging Tech Class (AI, Robotics, Cyber)

12:00pm-12:30pm: Professional Development Session

12:30pm: Finish
